It has been brought to our attention that after SQ have released their qualifying times for the QLD SC Championships, significantly relaxing QT’s for 11-12year old swimmers, that some of the SGC SC Champs qualifying times for 11yr old swimmers are now faster than or very close to state times. As such, SGC have decided to offer some changes to the 11yr qualifying times for our SGC SC Champs in order to allow some of the swimmers whose times are on the fringe another opportunity to qualify for QLD State SC Championships. Although our event is a Championship event, it should provide pathway opportunities for swimmers to compete and attempt to qualify for higher level meets. NOTE: 11yr old swimmers are the only age group affected. The below QT’s are for 11yr old swimmers only, both boys and girls.
50m Freestyle – old QT 35.00 – new QT 36.50
200m Freestyle – old QT 2:45.00 – new QT 2:50.00
400m Freestyle – old QT 5:40.00 – new QT 5:55.00
50m Backstroke – old QT 43.00 – new QT 45.00
50m Breaststroke – old QT 48.00 – new QT 50.00
100m Breaststroke – old QT 1:42.00 – new QT 1:45.00 (Boys Only – Girls was already 1:45.00)
50m Butterfly – old QT 42.00 – new QT 43.00 (Boys only – Girls was already 43.00)
100m Butterfly – old QT 1:30.00 – new QT 1:32.50 (Boys only – Girls was already 1:32.50)
Unfortunately, we cannot change the file on Swim Central, therefore, we have created a Jotform link (below) that you can nominate and pay for these events only, provided you have PB’s between the old and new qualifying times. If you have times currently faster than the old QT, can you please ensure you still nominate through swim central as this is still available. Also, for all other events not listed here, there has been no change in the QT and as such, you must nominate through Swim Central to enter those. All 11yr old swimmers' families have been emailed and provided with a link to enter into the below listed events manually.
