2024 Pho3nix Foundation JX
Level Up Challenge
This exciting new event in the true nature of being a development event has been developed by the Darling Downs RSA and Swimming Gold Coast as a replacement for the time honoured Patron Shield. This concept will provide more opportunities, better outcomes and a more rounded development experience for our younger swimmers.

This event will be taking place on Saturday 14th September 2024 at The Glennie School in Toowoomba. The meet information documentation can be found in the link below.

2024 Pho3nix Foundation JX Level Up Challenge - Meet Information
​
Each region will select a team of approximately 100 swimmers. Teams will comprise of the following:

12 Male and 12 Female swimmers in the following age groups:
-
9 Yrs, 10 Yrs, 11 Yrs; 12 Yrs; Multiclass – 9-15 Yrs (2 Male & 2 Female)

Each swimmer will compete in 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke, 50m Butterfly and 2 x 50m relays.

Regions may take swimmers as reserves, at its discretion

Of the 12 swimmers per age group, the following must be selected:

Male – 3 JX Gold, 3 JX Silver, 3 JX Bronze and 3 JX Blue swimmers
-
Female - 3 JX Gold, 3 JX Silver, 3 JX Bronze and 3 JX Blue swimmers

There will be 3 heats per age group for each stroke:

Heat 1 – Blue
-
Heat 2 – Bronze
-
Heat 3 – Silver

Heat 4 - Gold
-

No finals will be swum.

This is an Expression of Interest event - with the registration links below opening from 9am Monday 19th August 2024.
​
Swimmers will then be selected on a first come - first serve basis for each age group and JX category, until filled. Additional swimmers will then be added to a waitlist, in case of any withdrawals. Once selected, any withdrawals MUST be finalised by midday Friday 13th September 2024.
NOTE: any event no shows on the day will incur a $50 administration fee from SGC due to the lack of opportunity to allow another swimmer the position.

Swimmers will be selected on their current JX achievement level, however, as swimmers aged 11 and 12 years can only use long course times for achieve a JX level, the vast majority will not have a JX level for teh 2024-25 season. As such, for those 11 and 12 year old swimmers that don't have a JX achievement this season, we will be using the JX level achieved for the 2023-24 season.

SGC have organised buses to transport the swimmers to the venue and back from Nerang station for a cost of $30 per swimmer. You are abe to take your child to Toowoomba yourself, however, no parents will be permitted inside the venue for the event.​
​
SGC will also be looking for up to 8 coaches to be in attendance to assist your swimmers and get the most out of the day.
​
​The final selection of the team is at the discretion of the SGC Committee.

Points will be awarded for the following:
-
1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in each age group category for both female and male, with a maximum of 2 scoring swimmers per region per event.

Improvement points – The team with the highest time improvement overall
-
Overall points – Champion team on the day
-
Highest individual improvement
-
Bridging swimmer – the swimmer who has achieved the highest shift in JX levels on the day.

Rules and Conduct of the meet:

Competitors must be between the ages of 9 and 12 as at day of competition, 14th September 2024.

All swimmers will complete in a all 4 individual 50m events and 2 relay events.

Swimmers will be split into 3 teams that will be made up of swimmers from both regions.
-
Freestyle relays are 4x50m and all age relays, by JX categorisation. (Starting order is at the discretion of the Team Managers).

Medley relays are 4x50m and all age relays, by JX categorisation. (Starting order is at the discretion of the Team Managers).
-
Multi Class events for swimmers 15 years and under, swimming all 4 individual events and 2 relays.

SQ rules apply, any disputes will be adjudicated by the Meet Referee.

This is a Short Course Qualifying Meet.
