2023 SGC Regional Relay Team

The 2023 QLD State Regional Relay Championships will be conducted on Saturday 9th December 2023 proceeding the 2023 QLD State Club Relay Championships at Chandler Aquatic Centre - Map Link

Swimmers from each region compete in team based relay events (Freestyle & Medley) for Qld Championship status.


This is a great opportunity to be a part of an incredible SGC Team and possibly win a state championship medal!!!

Expressions of interest from registered Swimming Gold Coast competitive swimmers will be taken from Wednesday 18th October 2023 , with the closing date for the expression of interest being 11.59pm Saturday 11th November 2023.

Swimmers will be selected from those expressions of interest on the performances achieved throughout this season in both long course and short course events, detailed below:

  1. Southport Olympic Development Meet – 3rd June 2023

  2. All Saints Transition Meet - 10th June 2023

  3. Helensvale Preparation Meet – 24th June 2023

  4. Belgravia GC Development Meet – 1st July 2023

  5. SGC SC Championships – 15th & 16th July 2023

  6. Surfers Paradise Development Carnival - 19th August 2023

  7. Sharks Aquatics Transition Meet - 9th September 2023

  8. Miami Preparation Meet - 30th September 2023

  9. Emmanuel College SC Development Meet - 7th October 2023

  10. Somerset Duel Session Meet - 21st October 2023

  11. TSS Aquatic Preparation Meet - 28th October 2023

  12. SGC Relay Championships - 4th November 2023 (First swimmer splits only)


The following Swimming Queensland Meets will also be taken into consideration:


Speedo Short Course Preparation Meet – 8th & 9th July 2023

McDonald's QLD State Short Course Championships - 11th-13th August 2023

QLD Long Course Preparation Meet #1 - 7th-8th October 2023

Medal Shots Long Course Preparation Meet - 10th-12th November 2023

NOTE: swimmers may request that results from other qualifying meets be taken into consideration, however, the SGC executive committee will evaluate those results, at their discretion.


Swimmers must have competed in a least 1 SGC Championship meets (SGC Sprint Champs, SGC Champs, or SGC Short Course Champs) in 2023 and MUST participate in the 2023 SGC Relay Championships at GCAC on Saturday 4th November.

The SGC  teams selected to compete at the Queensland Regional Relay Championships will be the fastest available swimmers that have met the above criteria and have submitted their expression of interest. If availability dictates that we need to expand the criteria, then this will be done.
