2017 Patron Shield

The Annual Patron’s Shield Meet is an Inter – Regional Meet between the Brisbane Region, Darling Downs, Wide Bay and Gold Coast with each Region hosting it on a rotational basis.

The Patron’s Shield is awarded to the team with the highest aggregate points. It is a Junior Meet for 9yrs to 13years old and held in a 25m pool.

52 swimmers representing the gold coast boarded the bus at either Nerang Train Station or Movie World heading to The Valley Pool, Brisbane on Sunday 17th September to make the warmup session commencing at 9.30am. The team looked smashing with Team T-Shirt, Shorts and a silicone cap
SGC swimmers were all well behaved, looked great in their team uniforms and were always ready and waiting at marshalling for their races.

SGC came together as a tight team and showed great enthusiasm cheering on their team mates throughout the day. The swimmers all swam well and not to be biased but SGC were by far the most professional team overall on the day (as commeneted by many).

Well done to everyone who swam and to the coaches & team managers for organising the swimmers on the day !

SGC was awarded the inaugural Percentage Trophy Shield & were runners up for the overall Patron Shield.
